Pickering’s gin is based on an original Bombay recipe, handwritten on a fragment of paper dated 17 July 1947. Kept as a family secret for over 66 years, it only resurfaced in 2013 when we (Matt and Marcus) began distilling at Summerhall.

Pickering’s Gin is handcrafted in the heart of Edinburgh, nestled amongst the galleries, workshops, theatres and studios of Summerhall. Here you will find our small but perfectly formed distillery, and a friendly and passionate team ready to show you around on one of our distillery tours. For just £25 a head you’ll see how handcrafted, small batch gin is made, hear our story, visit our old workshop – birthplace of many weird and wacky GIN-ventions, and sample a flight of our 4 core marvellous gins.

The price of the tour also includes a perfectly poured Pickering’s and tonic from our gin tap at the Royal Dick Bar and a 5cl miniature bottle to take away at the end of the tour.
