A very warm welcome to the Sutherland restaurant of Cringletie House, situated just outside Edinburgh, nestled in 28 acres of woodland and gardens on the sloping hills of the Scottish Borders. Everything here is geared to providing the guests with a relaxed environment in which to enjoy the array of dishes available on the menus.
The kitchen team is headed by Iain Gourlay with an outstanding and long career of chef in a variety of roles.
Menus are seasonal with produce that is sourced as locally as possible. During the summer season, our 400 year old walled garden is something very special from which the kitchen team select items from as required.
Dining is a real treat in the stunning dining room with its hand painted ceiling. If guests look up to this ceiling, they may be able to decipher the monograms that are there. This room is situated on the first floor, hence the views over the gardens and rolling countryside.
A superb 3 course dinner with coffee is £42.50 per person; the menus vary with the season and the chef with his brigade endeavour to create original dishes based on a Scottish base with an international additions.
A traditional Sunday Lunch is served from 12.00noon to 2.30pm.
Afternoon tea, the great British tradition, is served daily from 2.30pm to 5.00pm in the lounge or bar or if weather allows, outside on the lawns – plus be tempted to try our Savoury or Scottish version!
Please visit us one day to see and taste for yourself!
