The Borders Distillery, opened in Hawick in 2018, is the first Scotch Whisky distillery in the Scottish Borders since 1837. Situated on the banks of the River Teviot, the distillery is an award-winning conversion of the town’s former electrical works. We are laying down stock for a future Single Malt, and in the meantime produce Kerr's Gin and Puffing Billy Vodka from our barley spirit. We also offer up two blended whiskies; Lower East Side and Clan Fraser Reserve. The distillery offers a fascinating tour – where you'll be guided round by our distillers, and finish up with a tasting in the distillery bar.
Tours run at 11am, 1pm and 3pm Tuesday-Friday or on a Saturday at 10am or 12pm. Walk-ins are welcome, though we ask visitors to please arrive 10 minutes in advance of your tour. You can also book ahead by calling the distillery on 01450 374330. We welcome groups of up to 12, and are fully wheelchair accessible. You can also find us on the Welcome App.
There is plentiful car parking nearby, with a wide selection of cafes within walking distance.
