The Island Cafe is a popular Restaurant with a Cafe atmosphere Summer Opening: Sunday 12noon to 6pm. And Wednesday to Saturday 11am to 2pm and 5pm to 9pm
Opened in 2005, The Island Cafe has become an everyday part of life on Coll. Serving home cooked hearty meals, takeaways, and astonishing home made puddings we have a full licence and children are welcome.
A family run business the Cafe is a popular venue with families and children's meals are tailored to requirements, as are any special diet requirements. The Menu is so varied it is hard to cover it but all is home made and goes from burger (often local meat) to Pork in Normandy Cider, to a plate full of crispy Fish and Chips to stew and dumplings. The all day fry up is 'proper', the baguettes filled to bursting and all the home made soups served with home made bread. In fact walking past The Cafe can be a most distracting experience as the aroma of baking bread is followed by Filtering Coffee or roasting meats or curries in preparation.
Sunday Lunch, serving the Traditional Roast with local meats, slabs of belly pork and so on...and Yorkshire puddings for all... is a protracted, relaxed affair, opening at 12noon and serving till 6pm though last table bookings are preferred by 5.30pm. At all times of year it is almost essential to book for Sunday Lunch and certainly in Summer it is highly advisable to book for evening meals.
Ring, email or drop in after you arrive to do so. The Cafe overlooks the Loch with a licensed lawned area to the front and coffee, meals and drinks can be taken at the tables there. Along with the free WIFI which extends out of the building into the garden.
