Working Together Social Enterprises
Bread Works & Green Works are Social Enterprises offered by Brothers of Charity Services (Scotland) providing training and work experience to adults with learning disabilities to enable them to gain the skills required for employment.
Bread Works is an organic bakery producing artisan bread in Tweedbank, Galashiels in the Scottish Borders.
Our bread is made from organic ingredients so there are no additives. The only things we add are natural such as nuts, fruit, seeds, cheese, dried fruit, olives, olive oil and butter.
The salt content of our bread is also less than 1%. By using organic ingredients, our bread is higher in nutritional value and lower in potentially harmful chemicals.
By purchasing organic products you are also helping the environment. Organically grown wheat supports a method of farming which is less polluting to our world and by avoiding chemicals it also benefits the wildlife.
Green Works is a gardening social enterprise based in Tweedbank that provides a gardening service within the Central Borders.
Our friendly team will provide a prompt and reliable gardening service to help keep your garden looking good. Our services include grass cutting, weeding, and fence painting, to name but a few and can
range from a one off garden tidy up to weekly, fortnightly, monthly or seasonal maintenance – just tell us what you need. All garden refuse will be removed and disposed of for you.
The cost of our garden maintenance service will depend upon the work involved. We will always agree the cost of the work with you beforehand - our usual charge is £12.50 per hour however a discounted rate of £10 per hour is available to people on low incomes.
As well as undertaking larger projects e.g. fencing we are happy to
provide maintenance for communal gardens and ground areas. For these
we would quote a price for the specific job.
