Route
A Dastardly Deed at Dumfries House is a 2.5 mile adventure around the grounds of Dumfries House Estate, near Cumnock and should take you about 2-3 hours. The trail starts and finishes at the Visitor Centre. If you are arriving by car, then there is plenty of free parking in the park.
Horace Harbisher, the old butler has been attacked; a painting has been removed and DI Laura Norder needs your help to solve the crime! Have a fun-filled time as you follow the clues, solve the riddles and complete the challenges!
Who Can Do the Trail?
It is suitable for a family (age 8+ children), couples, individuals or groups! The trail is on hard surfaces: pavements, roads, and shingle paths. Where there are steps, alternative routes have been suggested. The trail should be entirely accessible for all.
When Can You Do the Trail?
The trail can be done anytime during opening hours of the estate. This is currently 10 - 5.30 but please check for seasonal updates before you go. There is no charge to enter the grounds! The trail can be completed in about 2-3 hours The visitor centre is open daily 10.00 – 4.30 and a café, kiosk and toilets are available at the centre.

How Much?
£9.99 to download. You can then print it off yourself or use on a hand held device. However, the trail is not interactive and you will have to note your answers down elsewhere or just print off the relevant page at the back of the booklet.
