The Assynt Crofter’s Trust owns the 21,000 acre North Assynt in the Highlands, found 100 miles north west of Inverness. The nearest village is Lochinver.
The state boasts some of the finest trout fishing in Sutherland, with some 200 lochs and lochans. Many lochs have boats for hire, and bank fishing and boat permits are available at a number of local outlets. Guided wild brown trout fishing and fly fishing tuition is available for all ages, in addition to tackle hire and ghillie services. Shooting trips are also available.

From Lairg Railway Station, Sutherland, west to Lochinver and 10 miles north from there to Stoer a total distance of 55 miles.
