Benmore Botanic Garden lies seven miles north of Dunoon on the Cowal Peninsula.
Benmore Botanic Garden is a beautiful site within the Argyll Forest Park in the Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park.
The dramatic mountainside setting covers approximately 120 acres and boasts over 300 species of rhododendron; Bhutanese and Chilean plantings. It also features one of the finest entrances to any botanic garden in the world - a spectacular avenue of giant redwoods. Other highlights include a Victorian fernery and a Chilean rainforest glade.
Waymarked walks lead to an attractive pond and a historic formal garden with a viewpoint at 450 ft. The garden is beautiful throughout the seasons with striking eucryphias in summer and spectacular displays of rich autumn foliage.
Visitors can enjoy the courtyard gallery, which hosts a diverse programme of exhibitions and events throughout the year, and sample some delicious home baking in the Benmore café, or browse the garden shop.
