Cairn O'Mount Viewpoint is situated in Royal Deeside and sits close to 1,500 ft above sea level.
Driving south from Banchory to Fettercairn past Scolty Hill, the Bridge of Feugh and the village of Strachan, one enters the horse-shoe shaped valley.
To the left is Mount Kerloch (1,747 ft), to the right are Peter Hill (2,000 ft) and Clachnaben (or Clochnaben, 1,900 ft) and ahead lie Mount Battock (2,555 ft) and Cairn O’ Mount (1,488 ft) with its wonderful roadside viewpoint.
