Designed by well-known golf architect Tom Macaulay, the course opened in 1994 and it makes the most of its picturesque setting near Gatehouse of Fleet, with wonderful views of nearby Cardoness Castle, Rutherford’s Monument and the Fleet Estuary. Natural contours, magnificent trees, hidden burns and the beautiful Cally Lake give this course a mature feel that belies its relatively young age.
With no members and no competitions, the Cally Golf Course provides accessible, relaxing golf, and it caters particularly well to the needs of visitors. Residents at the hotel can enjoy unlimited golf during their stay, making this a popular choice for golf parties and groups.
Course Highlight
The water hazards on the par 5 13th make this one of the courses more challenging holes, with water down the right of the narrow fairway and to the front of the green.
Perfect Partners
Combine with Gatehouse for an enjoyable 27 hole golfing day, or with Brighouse Bay and Kirkcudbright for a challenging 18 hole trilogy.
