Come to our family friendly visitor centre and learn about Arran's sea life and marine protection in the Clyde.
The COAST Discovery Centre is Scotland’s first Marine Protected Area (MPA) visitor centre, and the UK’s first community-led MPA visitor centre. It is led by a charity called the Community of Arran Seabed Trust (COAST), with the people of Arran.
Come learn about the island's marine biodiversity and the conservation efforts that are taking place in the Clyde. We have a great interactive exhibit and catch and release marine tank to showcase some of the marine life in the area. Entry to the centre is free!
We also organise an array of marine related activities such as shore scrambles, beach cleans or snorkelling sessions, and hire out equipment for the day such as Seashore Explorer Backpacks, tennis kit or binoculars.
Our centre is located right on the sea front in Lamlash Bay, it is fully accessible and open seven days a week, rain or shine!
