The town’s park is based centrally and boasts spectacular flower displays throughout the year, regardless of the season.
A large Victorian two storey mansion can be found within the park’s boundaries. The grand house has impressive balconies, pediments and Doric door-piece. A long drive way leads up to the mansion, which is guarded by two Chinese lion statues, all framed by fine estate trees, shrubs and flower beds.
The house along with the rest of the gardens were gifted to the town by Robert Dollar, a shipping magnate and philanthropist.
