Emirates Arena
The custom built Emirates Arena is one of the largest facilities of its kind in Europe and provided a dramatic setting for the Badminton competition during the Commonwealth Games in 2014. The Arena has a 200 metre, 6 lane athletics track which is hydraulically operated to allow for other events be held.
The complex includes new fitness and health suites, external multi-court areas and seating for up to 5,000 spectators. The arena is also a national training centre for athletics, basketball, netball, track cycling and volleyball.
Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome
The Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome has capacity for 2,000 seats and 500 standing spectators, which was increased to 4,000 seats for the Commonwealth Games.
The 250 m track, designed by one of the foremost track designers Ralph Shuermann, plays host to one of Scotland’s most high-octane sports. Named for Sir Chris Hoy, Team GB's most successful Olympic gold-medallist and Scottish Commonwealth Games champion, the track itself is sure to cement his legacy and thrive as the home of Scottish cycling.
