Esmé is comes from a family of artisans, her father is renowned Master Blacksmith and farrier and she is carrying on the family tradition with her own twist to it. She is inspired by her surroundings, using colours, designs and materials which are synonymous with her island home. She uses local sea glass, shells and sand to make uniquely Shetland works that make the perfect gift or that special souvenir to remember your Shetland adventure by.
Her workshop is situated at her fathers smithy where they craft in workshops that are opposite each other.
Esme’s workshop is open daily and her dads smithy is well worth a peak as it is living history, Esmé runs silversmithing workshops through the year and these are a great immersive experience into not only silversmithing but Shetland life.
