All this solitude is barely half an hour's drive from Glasgow city centre. In fact, many of the holes are named after distant Munros, which are clearly visible on the skyline. There are many stimulating holes on the course including the par four fifth, which involves a demanding drive over a gorge, and the par five eighth, where a tough decision is required: cut the corner over the reservoir or play it short and safe. The course itself is medium length in yardage with tight undulating fairways which reward accurate driving.
Parkland, 18 holes, 5,962 yards, SSS 70, Par 71
