Galloway Walking Holidays have been successfully arranging self-guided and guided walking holidays mainly from our base in Castle Douglas in Dumfries and Galloway region of south west Scotland for over 11 years.
The region is well known for not so much mountainous walking paths and trails but for a variety of coastal, countryside and hill walks. The Galloway Highlands and Scottish Riviera are popular walking locations with numerous way-marked walks including the cross country Southern Upland Way, Mull of Galloway Trail and Annandale Way the best known. The town of Newton Stewart has an annual week-long walking festival.
With a personalised and flexible service, we provide all the usual walking holiday services, arranging accommodation, minibus transport for drop off’s and pickups, luggage transfer, detailed OS route maps and other interesting information about the area. We also offer a train pickup service from Dumfries and Lockerbie - 1 hour from Edinburgh and Glasgow.
We mostly compile short break itineraries comprising of a variety of day walks from our base and other accommodation locations. We have our own 5 star Tripadvisor rated B&B in Castle Douglas, complete with swim spa, which we normally use for accommodation, subject to availability.
