A darting red squirrel or an acrobatic Scottish crossbill might be above your head as you wander through ancient trees or, from the banks of the rushing river, you might see the silvery flash of a salmon powering upstream.
April - June are the best months for bird watching, and you should visit July - September to see the heather in flower.
Facilities include a visitor centre with a ranger service. There's a network of waymarked paths and tracks suitable for walking, mountain biking, cross-country skiing and pony trekking.
