On the Glengoyne Whisky Tasting Experiences guests are welcomed in to the Tasting Room, overlooking the beautiful waterfall and glen, where our Distillery Ambassadors delve in to the rich history of Glengoyne whilst you taste 3 Glengoyne Highland Single Malt whiskies. Set before you will be 50ml measures of Glengoyne 12 year old and 18 year old Glengoyne Highland Single Malt whiskies plus a mystery dram of one of our more limited edition Glengoyne whiskies, all of which will be revealed during the tasting. We’ll explain the journey our spirit makes – through mashtun and washbacks to the swan-necks of our copper stills. You’ll discover how we capture every ounce of flavour before we send the spirit to the cask. We’ll tell you how our whisky ages – from the difference the wood makes, to how the spirit deepens in colour over the years. All of the whiskies will be served in sealed bottles for you to pour yourself or to take home, if you wish, to enjoy later.
For guests who would like to get a little more hands-on, the Malt Master Experience is the perfect choic This unique experience lets you create YOUR Glengoyne, the way YOU want it, by assuming the role of Honorary Malt Master.
The Malt Master plays a crucial role in making Glengoyne, balancing the flavours from different casks. You take that role – and ranged before you will be samples from five very different Glengoyne single casks. You’ll see the difference in colour immediately – between the American oak and European, and between the previous fill of sherry or bourbon.
Taste 10ml samples from each of the five single casks, and you’re away – adding a little from a bourbon cask here, bringing out a touch more sherry wood there. Like a chef, you’ll taste and tinker your way to create a unique cask strength, un-chill filtered Glengoyne Single Malt.
