The variation in holes makes Glenisla both challenging to play and a memorable golfing experience. In only its fifth year, Glenisla has already been described as presenting one of the best tests in the area. The most challenging hole, the 612-yard par five 12th, requires two well played shots to set up a straightforward third. The undulating greens are very much a characteristic of the course, as is the layout of the holes which reward well placed shots. The 18th hole is fronted by the Alyth Burn, which makes the second shot a very daunting one - a great finishing hole.
