A hub of creative activity in Dumfries & Galloway, Gracefield Arts Centre presents a changing programme of exhibitions, workshops and events by local, national and international artists and craftmakers. Throughout the year there are also exhibitions selected from the permanent collection of over 600 artworks dating from the 1880s to the present day, including highlights such as the Scottish Colourists, Glasgow Boys and modern Scottish painters Elizabeth Blackadder, John Bellany and Joan Eardley. If a particular artwork is not on show, you can make an appointment to view in our stores.
Gracefield is also home to an active Printmaker's workshop focusing on etching and relief printmaking, which is open to members and non members.
In our craft shop you'll find the best of local work, including orginal prints, and a curated selection from makers across the UK of a wide variety of crafts: jewellery, ceramics, textiles, basketry and more, all hand-made to last.
There is plenty of space to relax and enjoy your visit with seating indoors in the cafe, or outside in grounds at a picnic bench. An ideal base to explore the riverside walk or take a short stroll into Dumfries town centre.
