Invergordon Naval Museum is close to the port and can be identified from the Shore Road by our Mural and the 'unexploded mine'.
Our Museum focuses on the unique past of Invergordon. As a museum run by volunteers and supported by donations, we offer a glimpse into the sinking of HMS Natal on 30th December 1915 when 421 Sailors, civilians, children and the ships cat lost their lives, we look at Invergordon's old hospital and into the old castle which was in Invergordon. We also take a look at some features of the life here through the years.
We have a small area where snacks and hot and cold drinks can be purchased and we are also in the process of developing a small shop where you can purchase books relating to Invergordon's history and a range of other items such as postcards and stationery.
During cruise season, from March to October, we are open Monday to Friday from 10:00 to at least 14:30hrs and often feature a craft fayre and weekends when a ship is in port. Outside these months we are open on a Monday from 10:00 to 14:30hrs, Tuesday from 10:00 to 14:30hrs and a Thursday from 10:00 to 13:00hrs.
If anybody wishes to visit outside these times they can contact us via our email address (invergordonmuseum@gmail.com) and we will happily open our doors to you.
We have a small room available for hire and which can seat approximately 30 people and are happy to accommodate parties or other small events.
