Iona's working artist studio is at the heart of the medieval walled city of Stirling. Situated in the ancient alms house, Cowane's Hospital, her studio was once a bedroom for two of the 'decayed Guild brethren' of Stirling. She paints vividly about the built, natural and human landscapes of Scotland's heart and her experience as Historic Scotland's first artist in residence at Stirling Castle informs her energetically-imagined historical paintings about the people who once inhabited this place.
Cowane's Hospital hall is open daily and is free to enter. As Iona's studio is upstairs, please call her on 07773 347780 if you would like to meet her and view work in progress. A range of her cards, prints and original mixed media paintings are on permanent show in the hall itself.
Cowane's cafe is open daily throughout the summer from 10am - 4pm and serves soup, a range of toasted sandwiches, home baking, teas and coffees.
Iona will be taking part in the annual Forth Valley Open Studios event 7 - 15 June 2014 when she and three other artists will be exhibiting a range of artwork at Cowane's Hospital www.forthvalleyopenstudios.com
