Route Description
This is a mostly flat, road route, on a mix of A and B roads and farm lanes, with a few undulations. There is just one potentially busy section, through the outskirts of Kilmarnock. It is quieter on a weekday, the biggest hazard you face could be the odd heard of cows being driven back to the farm for milking. The route touches each direction on the compass at some point, so, if you are struggling with a headwind it should soon be at your tail. Reward yourself with a coffee and cake at the Maritime Museum on completion.
Landmarks - Passing close to Walkers Cyles in Kilmaurs, Laigh Milton Viaduct and Dundonald castle with great views at various times across to Arran.
