Isle of Jura Distillery
Visit this small distillery located on one of Scotland's most spectacular but remote islands.
Welcome to Jura, a remote island off the West Coast of Scotland. Only 60 miles from the mainland yet it feels like an entire world away; an ancient landscape of wild mountains, peaceful lochs and stormy seas. Life can be challenging here, but it is also endlessly rewarding. With just one road, one pub, one distillery and a very distinct micro-climate, it’s not an easy place to make whisky but we believe it’s the best.
Founded in 1810, our distillery collapsed at the end of the 19th century and fell into ruin. Despite this and the two World Wars which followed, our Diurach's spirit remained. In 1963, we rebuilt our distillery to help revive the small island community. With it true community spirit was born.
Here on Jura we thrive as one. We are proud of who we are and where we are from, that’s why each intrepid visitor to Jura is welcomed with open arms.
