Are you curious to know more about your Scottish roots? Would you like to visit places where your ancestors were born, lived, married, died or were buried?
"Things" can get in the way. Perhaps you have no time to do the research or you don't know where to start? Maybe you have done some work but got stuck or you can't access the relevant records?
Let Janealogy do the work for you!
I can do research before you visit Scotland, work with you while you are here or do follow up work when you go back home. My work ranges from very specific queries to fully researched family trees over several generations.
Not everything is online, by a long way. I'm within easy reach of the Highland Archive Centre in Inverness. while Nucleus:The Nuclear and Caithness Archives, Lochaber Archive Centre, Fort William and Moray Local Heritage Centre and Archives, Elgin, are not too far away. At Inverness, I can access all the ScotlandsPeople records, Kirk session records from the whole of Scotland, as well as the specific Highland records of course.
Combining a passion for family history with solid research experience and a postgraduate qualification in Genealogical Studies, my thorough, careful work is dedicated to revealing your family heritage.
Working with you
If you like doing your own research but feel you would benefit from some assistance, I can work with you, online or perhaps even in person. That could be helping you make the most of ScotlandsPeople online or Ancestry, or working on seach strategies more generally, for example. Just get in touch so we can discuss.
