The museum is family friendly. Almost every display has something to touch and do with objects to handle, costumes to wear as well as film, activity sheets and a postcard trail with stamps to collect. The Centre is fully accessible with Talking Museum Audio Guides. It also contains the Haddington Library, East Lothian Archives and Local History Centre.
The John Gray Centre is a hub of cultural activity for everyone to enjoy. Hosting East Lothian's Archives, the Local History Centre, a county-wide Museum and Haddington's branch library.

From the A1 there are signs for Haddington which will bring you into either end of the town. Head to the main streets at the heart of the town (Market Street and High Street), where you will find free parking (for 90 minutes). The John Gray Centre is at the top of the High Street, within easy reach of shops and cafés.
There is some reserved on-street parking for disabled users at the top of the High Street, and directly outside the Centre.
There is additional parking in the long-stay car park which adjoins Tesco’s car park.

Alternatively, you can get the train to various locations in East Lothian and get the bus, cycle or walk from there.
For the more active visitor there is a pleasant walk from Longniddry train station to Haddington (approx. 5.5 miles). Suggested route on google maps here.
