Enjoy a trip on Scotland's most northerly preserved heritage railway and explore an area where the climate and geology are so suitable for malt whisky distilling that over half of Scotland's whisky distilleries are here. Sit back and relax and be prepared for enchantment at the prospect of an ever changing landscape as tiny rivers coil their way through a gentle patchwork of hamlets, rich fertile farming land and dark green forest whilst watching for the abundance of wildlife. This is a delightful round trip of 22 miles.
The railway operates a varied programme of special events, including special journeys run in conjunction with the Spring and Autumn Whisky Festivals. Santa Trains are operated during December with visits to Santa's Grotto on board.
