Formerly the Kirkcaldy Museum and Art Gallery, Kirkcaldy Galleries has undergone a major refurbishment in recent years.
Kirkcaldy Galleries is home to an art gallery, museum, library and the Wemyss Café.
Kirkcaldy Galleries has a stunning collection of work by a number of well-known artists. Since 2015 it has hosted exhibitions of prestigious pieces of work, such as the photography of Diane Arbus and the historic Great Tapestry of Scotland at no cost the public.
At the museum, discover the history, heritage, people and culture of the area through an array of artefacts from Fife’s collection, housed in ‘Moments in Time’, a permanent museum display.
From the creation of the Fife coal bed to the refurbishment of the town’s High Street, and from the first Links Market to the Beatles performing at the Carlton, there are many fascinating stories to uncover. With activities, objects, documents, photos, film, sound and even smells, we hope there’s something for everyone!
