Whilst not being a long course at just over 6, 100-yards, it calls for good course management. The 386-yard par four ninth is a beautiful hole, complemented by Kelburn Castle, yet is also one of the trickiest on the course. A long tee shot is required to get into position for another long shot to the green. The burn comes into play after a short drive, when the golfer is faced with the question of 'going for it' or laying up short of the burn. The split-level green deserves to be treated with respect as the borrow running through it is anything but obvious.
