No matter how hard you ride you always get a chilled out feeling at Mabie, probably due to the tranquil woodland surroundings and natural feel to the trails.
Although close to Dalbeattie and Ae, Mabie offers something quite different.- a more natural mountain biking experience.
Here you will find softer trails, with roots a more common obstacle than rocks and there's some great singletrack - downhill and uphill. Mabie boasts some fantastic blue and green trails for beginners, which provide a great introduction to single-track riding and the ever popular Phoenix Trail is 19kms of hugely enjoyable red-grade trails for the more experienced rider.
Situated in a corner of the forest away from the main trails, the Dark Side is black grade North Shore and is for experts only. Even then, those who do fancy riding it are advised to walk it first!
Please note, parking charges are as follows:
- £1 for up to 1 hour
- £2 for up to 3 hours
- £3 for all day
- £12 for minibus and coach all day
