Mike Briggs, who has lived on the Isle of Harris since 1992, offers a professional guide service for visitors who want to be shown around the best sights and be given the facts behind what they are seeing.
If your stay is short and you don't know the area Mike can save you valuable time and take you straight to where your interests lie. Even if you are here for a little longer, it can make sense to have a guide on hand to help plan your days out and make sure you don't miss the best of what we have to offer.
Mike can be your driver, either in a vehicle he has arranged or, if your insurance is suitable, in your own vehicle. Alternatively, you can drive while Mike navigates and narrates.
Days out can include visits to scenery hotspots, places of interest for the natural historian or geologist, great photo locations, the best cafes and, of course, walks on beaches, valleys and hills, either on paths or in the wilderness. The choice is yours and Mike will put together the best schedule to include as much as possible during your stay.
The charge is £130 for the day for up to two people and £30 for a third person. A small mileage charge might be incurred, depending on choice of vehicle. Groups of more than three can be catered for by hiring a people-carrier or minibus.
