Guided walks and hikes
Our position in the heart of the Highlands makes us the ideal company to use if you want to explore the fabulous surrounding glens and mountains. We have a passion for the outdoors and love helping groups of people experience the true beauty of the area taking you to and from the starting and finish points.
From a 3 hour leisurely walk in the glens to a day hike up some of Scotland's most stunning Munros we will take you into the outdoors under the guided supervision of one of our helpful and experienced mountain guides.
Located an hour's drive from Inverness the Torridon mountain range is stunning consisting of three Munros (Scottish mountains above 3,000ft), Beinn Alligin, Liathach and Beinn Eighe. Along with these day hikes we offer walks up Ben Nevis, Stac Pollaidh and Suilven. The mountains we have chosen represent our favourites, the ones we know and love the most and are within driveable distance from where we are based.
Each of the mountains is a day's climbing with an early morning collection from your accommodation. A general level of fitness is required and we would be delighted to advise you of which walk would be most suitable. It is essential that appropriate clothing and footwear is worn and we are more than happy to offer any advice.
If you want to get out and about and explore the spectacular countryside in our area then one of our guided full or half day tours is ideal. A moderate level of fitness is required but walks can be set at a relatively leisurely pace! Along with your guide we offer picnics sourcing fine local produce. Our prices start at £120 for a half day including transportation to and from your accommodation and your lunch.
Mystical Highlands
Our day starts at Clootie Well which is an old pilgrimage spot and has a forest decorated with brightly coloured rags tied to the trees. For thousands of years and since pre-Christian times people have come to this forest to visit the wells and springs dipping cloth in the water and tying it to a branch while saying a prayer to the spirits and goddesses. A practice you can take part in on your experience! The tour then moves on to Fairy Glen where local children would decorate springs with flowers in the hope that the fairies would keep the water clean. This practice has gone on for thousands of years. You'll also see the money trees where hundreds of old coins are hammered into the bark as offerings to the fairies. Your last stop before being returned home is the 4,000 year old bronze age cemetery of Clava Cairns which is the most favoured contender for the inspiration behind the site of Craigh na Dun from the series "Outlander". The price per person is £140 and includes all your visits, transportation and a luxury picnic hamper.
