Opened in July 2017 and believed to be Scotland's first organic distillery, Ncn’ean is a young independent whisky distillery on the Morvern peninsula focused on creating new flavours and sustainable production.
Perched above the Sound of Mull in the remote community of Drimnin on the west coast of Scotland, Ncn’ean is aiming to getting people to think again about Scotch.
The name Ncn’ean, is an abbreviation of Neachneohain, the Queen of Spirits in Gaelic legend. Neachneohain was a huntress: strong, independent and never afraid to walk her own path. A quiet rebel. She was also a fierce protector of nature.
Qualities we hope will be reflected in the character of our single malt whisky.
Travel by road from Lochaline, and admire the stunning scenery along the shores of the Sound of Mull or visit us by sea.
The distillery is open to visitors Monday to Friday and each tour, limited to just 15 people, includes cocktails and cupcakes. Some tours include lunch of local ingredients and some are specially designed for visitors from Tobermory by water taxi.
We only have two rules i) you must book in advance by telephone or online and ii) we cannot accommodate children under 12.
Come along for a relaxed visit and a look behind the scenes as we create our future whisky.
