Follow the A851 north towards Broadford, turn left at Kilbeg towards Tokavaig, Tarskavaig, Achnacloich. The road now climbs to a stunning viewpoint above Loch Dhughaill looking at the jagged ridge of the Cuillin hills. Take care on the steep descent to Achnacloich where the pebble beach awaits you with views of Rum. Another short steep hill brings you to a rewarding viewpoint of the Cuillins framed by Tarskavaig bay and Loch Slapin. The road passes the village of Tarskavaig and continues on to Tokavaig, where a short stroll takes you to the ruins of the historic Dunscaith Castle. We now have one more steep hill to climb before rolling into Ord with it’s tranquil coral beach and picture postcard views of the Cuillins. We now turn back to the South East and start the return to Armadale via moors, lochs and forest back to the A851 where we turn right and head South. Toravaig hotel makes a good stop for tea or lunch, as we continue along the coastal road for the remaining few miles back to the starting point of Armadale Pier.
