An Outlandish Outing in Dunure is a 1.5 mile adventure around the harbour, castle and shoreline of the historic village of Dunure that has been used on several occasions in the filming of the TV series, Outlander.
Route
The trails starts and finishes in the car park in Kennedy Park. Parking is available here (paid from Easter through summer months). It is not suitable for prams and wheel chairs as it it involves uneven ground, narrow paths and steps which are unavoidable with no alternative routes available. The trails takes you around the castle, labyrinth, shoreline and fishing village.The route will take you through some well-camouflaged and hidden paths and will lead you to lots of interesting nooks and crannies that explore the history of this historic fishing village! Have a fun-filled time as you solve the clues!

It is suitable for a family (age 8+ children), couples, individuals or groups!
When Can You Do the Trail?
The trail can be completed anytime during the castle opening hours as it does require access to the ruins. However, if you are using the car park, then please check what times the gates close at! There will only be limited access to the castle ruins outwith normal opening hours. This WILL AFFECT your ability to solve the clues! The toilet facilites at the park may be closed outwith car park hours and the small cafe at the harbour will also be shut outside normal hours. However, the Dunure Inn will be open but always worth checking before hand if you wish to combine the trail with enjoying some refreshments or a meal there!

How Much?
£9.99 to download. You can then print it off yourself or use on a hand held device. However, the trail is not interactive and you will have to note your answers down elsewhere.
