Ranfurly Castle is perfectly situated for visitors attending both the Commonwealth Games and Ryder Cup. We are a 10 minute drive from Glasgow Airport, near to the motorway network. A warm welcome awaits you at our beautiful golf course.
Ranfurly Castle Golf Club celebrates it’s 125th Anniversary this year, making it the oldest Golf Club in Renfrewshire. The course is widely recognised as one of the finest "Classic" courses and is acknowledged as one of the best moorland courses in Scotland.
The course was originally laid out over a century ago on naturally well draining land. It is set in the hills above Bridge of Weir where you can enjoy magnificent views over the Renfrewshire countryside, the Clyde valley and north to Ben Lomond and the Scottish mountains. There is a strong hint of Gleneagles at Ranfurly, as hoards of gorse bushes line many fairways and greens nestle into little picturesque corners. Although not long by modern day standards, it often plays to more than its full length and with the undulating fast greens, this is a great test of golf. Beautifully maintained by an experienced team of greenkeepers, it Is a pleasure to play all year round.
The course has been chosen for many prestigious golf tournaments including the PGA Assistants’ Match Play Championship, the Scottish Seniors Open Strokeplay Championship, the Ladies Scottish Jamboree Finals, the Scottish Girls’ Championship last year and this year will host the Scottish Area Team Championships.
