Resipole Studios is an award-winning fine art gallery located on the edge of Loch Sunart - an area of outstanding natural beauty in west Highlands of Scotland. Its four unique exhibition spaces are host to an exciting annual programme of exhibitions of contemporary art by both established and emerging artists who are inspired by the west coast of Scotland.

Nestled in the foothills of Beinn Resipol, the 19th century milking barn turned gallery was established in 2004 by artist and gallery director Andrew Sinclair on the farm that has been home to his family since the 1950s. An arts graduate himself, Andrew recognised the need for a professional gallery space in his home area as well as for professional studio facilities, to enable resident and visiting artists to access high-quality resources in a truly inspirational Highland setting.

The gallery is surrounded by ancient oakwoods, remnants of the prehistoric rainforests that once carpeted the Atlantic coastline from Norway to Spain. It’s an ideal setting for a gallery that celebrates contemporary art inspired by the west coast of Scotland. Reached by scenic single track road via the Corran ferry or Lochailort on the road to the Isles, visitors to the area are often pleasantly surprised to find high quality artwork so sympathetically displayed in such a quiet rural setting.

Since its launch, Resipole Studios continues to present work by artists of many disciplines, with Scotland as their key focus. With many award-winning artists on its roster, the gallery is regarded as one of Scotland’s leading contemporary art spaces and, consequently, in 2016 was selected to show work by the late, American abstract-expressionist Jon Schueler to mark the centenary of his birth.
