What we do best
Family summer adventure holiday - for families with children 8 years and over. We keep these holidays small, just two or three families together. Climb a mountain, sea kayak in a sheltered sea loch teeming with wildlife, learn survival skills, forage for and cook wild foods from the seashore, rock climb and abseil on an ancient rocky outcrop. The children will end the week putting all their skills together to survive overnight on an uninhabited island.
Comfy rooms on the waters edge, delicious home cooking and a small, fun and friendly staff team.
Sea kayaking or hillwalking holiday for adults – based either from the Adventure School, or the crofts at Ardmore, stay with us for a week, enjoy comfy rooms, delicious home cooking and the company of likeminded people.
Whether you wish to explore our unspoiled mountains, or paddle the remote coves and bays that are home to sea birds, seals and the elusive otter. We all return at the end of the day to enjoy a cup of tea and some home baking. For people who might like to do a bit of both is possible. We keep the holidays small and personal, with our instructors on hand to guide you in both environments.
Day of sea kayaking as part of your independent holiday - learn the skills to paddle your own kayak around the coves and bays of this sheltered sea loch, home to nesting sea birds, seals and the elusive otter. Paddle across the water to Ardmore to view John Ridgway’s 1966 Atlantic rowing boat Rebecca’s 1992 Cape Horn sea kayak. Finish the day with hot showers, tea and home baking.
Sea kayaking days are by arrangement with Rebecca. Usually Fridays, Saturdays and another weekday.
Summer camp for your son or daughter - Since the earliest days of the Adventure School, young people have come to Ardmore from all over Europe, either alone or with a brother, sister or friend to experience real adventure in this beautiful landscape. It is a chance to make new friends, often from different nations and to develop and grow as individuals through exciting adventures in the mountains, on the sea and around the shore.
Led by our friendly, fun and experienced instructors, young people will make the very most of this unique environment, climbing mountains, sea kayaking, wild camping, learning and using survival skills and much more. One week and two week camps available depending on age.
We are two hours by road from Inverness and just over one hour from Ullapool. Further information is available on all of the above on our website or simply call or email Rebecca directly.
