Rothiesholm Sand is located on the west of Stronsay, Orkney.
Stronsay is about 7 miles long from north to south and is often described as being 'all arms and legs' resulting from the three large bays which bite into the island.
On the beautiful sandy beach of Rothiesholm which stretches to over a mile, some of Orkney's rarest shells can be found. To the west of the bay is an area of wet dune slack where a wealth of plants are located.
