All of the routes start from the main car park and cross the Mabie Burn towards the Old Sawmill where picnic areas, barbecues and toilets can be found.
If you are looking for a quiet place to walk your dog or somewhere for the children to explore, Rounall Wood is the ideal spot. There is a circular walk lasting approximately one hour that is suitable for most walking abilities. You are almost guaranteed to spot the local wildlife which abounds here including roe deer, badgers and buzzards as well as bats, such as pipistrelle and brown long-eared varieties. The best time to spot the bats is on fine summer evenings when they can be seen silhouetted against the dimming sky.
