We can offer you yachts from 36ft to 50ft that can sleep up to 12. Based at Largs Yacht Haven on the Ayrshire Coast you will find superb access to some of the most beautiful sailing grounds in Scotland. Our fleet of 7 yachts is ready for you to charter. Not only can you sail from Largs and enjoy the glorious Firth of Clyde with its lovely harbours and splendid sheltered anchorages and bays, but we can also offer you the opportunity to charter on the West Coast from Crinan, Croabh, Oban and Mallaig. Sail Scotland with “SeaSpray Yacht Charters”

All our yachts will spend some of the summer 2020 on the West Coast and can be chartered from Oban & Kerrera. This allows the more adventurous sailors to explore the Western Isles, Mull, The Small Isles and Skye.

Largs, on the Firth of Clyde is a splendid base to sail from. Within a few hours you can be moored up in the sheltered Kyles of Bute and enjoy the peaceful tranquillity of the lovely Scottish countryside and wildlife. If you wish to head out into the Firth of Clyde you can explore the Isle of Arran and there’s lots to explore from Cowal to Kintyre, Tarbert to Campbeltown. All the ports and anchorages within the Clyde are in easy reach and will certainly give you the chance of a special and most memorable sailing holiday. If you are feeling more adventurous, then Ireland could be in your plans or maybe it’s off to Islay round the Mull of Kintyre or through the delightful Crinan Canal to the magnificent Western Isles.

Largs Marina is noteworthy in that it has some excellent facilities. There is an excellent restaurant, a friendly cafe and a well-stocked chandlery. Great showers too. It’s easy to park in Largs, there’s lots of space and it’s free.

It’s easy to get to Largs. Both Glasgow Airport & Prestwick Airport are only 50 minutes away with good rail and bus links. If you need assistance in arranging transport, we can help.

It’s easy to get to Oban from Glasgow Airport. A taxi takes about 2hrs and there are good bus and rail services from Glasgow city centre.

MIDNIGHT MIRAGE. Moody 376.   Accommodation for 8 Crew.

“Midnight Mirage” our splendid Moody 376 has been regularly updated and is a joy to sail. She is a powerful boat and takes the rough weather in her stride. In 2018 she was fitted with a brand-new plotter at the helm position. The top of the range Raymarine 12-inch Axium Pro was the choice. She has recently been equipped with a brand-new Volvo 55HP engine and has the versatile Eberspacher hydronic 5 central heating system that will not only keep you warm all of the time but will provide you with hot domestic water whenever you wish. She is equipped with heads fwd and Ensuite aft, both with showers. She has a lovely saloon. her accommodation is really versatile and is most comfortable with 5 or 6 crew. She is a centre cockpit yacht with a most spacious and safe cockpit, well equipped electronically with 2 colour plotters (including Class B AIS “transmit & receive”) and with a bow-thruster and electrical anchor winch. The rear cabin is magnificent. She has an Avon RIB mounted on davits & powered by a 2.5HP Yahama outboard. Deja Vue.   Bavaria 46 Cruiser        Accommodation for 9 Crew in 4 cabins.

Deja Vue is a very capable and comfortable cruising yacht; she is easily handled under power and is an absolute joy to sail.  She is well suited to the beautiful sailing grounds of the Firth of Clyde and the West Coast of Scotland. Deja Vue underwent a lengthy refit in 2016 and has been exceedingly well maintained and is in great condition. The Bavaria 46 layout is exactly what you would want. She has four generously sized sleeping cabins:-  2 large double cabins aft, an even larger double cabin forward and a decently-sized twin bunk cabin to port. In addition, the starboard saloon seat converts to a single sea-going berth. There are 2 good sized heads fitted with showers.

 Recent Updates
 Deja Vue carries all required navigational aids, plus more. There are, twin chart plotters and DSC VHF radio controls, at both helm and chart table, wind or heading activated autopilot, radar and AIS - both with target tracking.
 
Above decks, she has full teak decking, electric windlass with deck controls, bow thruster, furling headsail and furling mainsail, with all sail controls led aft to her large secure cockpit. She also boasts powered genoa winches, although in certain cases these are best disabled. Her cockpit is well protected with a generously sized sprayhood and includes cockpit jackstays to enhance safety aboard. Her 55HP engine drives her hull easily through the water via the feathering propeller, which helps enhance her sailing performance.

MOONSONG. Bavaria 44 Vision.      Accommodation for 8 Crew.   

“Moonsong” is a particularly well-appointed Bavaria Vision 44 Deck Saloon. She is spacious, has a bright interior and lots of head room. She is equipped with in-mast reefing and has twin wheel steering. All the navigation instruments are Raymarine and a new 12 inch B&G colour plotter was recently fitted. She has a most powerful Volvo 75HP Turbo Diesel so when it’s calm you can still make 7kts plus to your destination.

Two heads, a luxurious master cabin fwd, two double cabins to the rear of the boat and in addition a generous convertible double in the main saloon provide the crew with most versatile accommodation. Central heating is provided by the Eberspacher D5l warm air system.

MOONRISE. BENETEAU Oceanis 500. Accommodation for 12 Crew.

“Moonrise” our Beneteau Oceanis 500 is the biggest boat in the fleet. She has sailed the Caribbean, Southern Ireland, The Canary Islands and in recent years, UK waters and is now based at Largs. She is an extremely capable boat, capable in all weathers, a superb vessel. She has a large sprayhood and twin wheels. The galley is extremely well appointed having plenty of fridge and cool box space and there’s a large dining table fitted in the large bright saloon. One of the most striking points is the fact that there are four re-upholstered double cabins each with their own Ensuite toilet/heads. There is additional accommodation available in the saloon and separate crew accommodation fwd for extra crew. A periodic update is commencing now and by the Spring of 2018 there will be new Eberspacher Hydronic 11Kw Heating fitted, a new cooker, LED lighting throughout and new upholstery in the saloon.

Engine power is by the most reputable & reliable Perkins 85HP diesel engine.

 FIDELIO. Ovni 43 Accommodation for 8 Crew.

Aluminium Hull, Lifting Keel, Folding Fin. Some of the amazing features on this yacht. This Ocean-going yacht is a splendid versatile yacht well worth considering for your Sailing holiday on The West Coast of Scotland.

Above decks, she has a furling Genoa and fully-battened Mainsail with Lazy Jack system. There is an Asymmetric Spinnaker, Furling System and Inner Forestay. In the spacious cockpit, she has a large spray-hood, Navigation Instruments, and colour Plotter. There is a Rib and outboard.

Below decks it’s all very spacious, with a large bright saloon and dining area fitted with a large dining table. The fully equipped Galley has twin sinks, a large chest fridge, and a chest cool box. There is a chart table with all the standard electronics and there’s also an additional colour Plotter. There’s an abundance of storage area and hot water is on tap from either shore power or from the engine clarifier.

The Accommodation is excellent. There are three luxurious double cabins. The Port cabin has an extra full-length bunk fitted. The Master Cabin has its own Ensuite heads and hot showers. The saloon and dining area can be converted to a large double and has adjacent toilet/heads facilities.

The engine is the excellent reliable Volvo Penta MD22 50hp. It is a powerful marine engine that will drive Fidelio along at 7 knots or more. Fidelio can easily be manoeuvred in the Marina & has a bow thruster that allows for fuss free berthing.

Fidelio will be based at Dunstaffnage this summer.

LADY NAOMI. Hunter Legend 36.       Accommodation for 8 Crew.

Lady Naomi is particularly spacious for a 36-footer. 

On deck the large cockpit has a table in the centre extending from the steering binnacle that houses a single wheel, speed depth and wind instruments autohelm control and new 2013 chart plotter fitted. Sail controls are all lead aft to the cockpit with a stainless-steel arch keeping the mainsheet track out of the cockpit, there are 2 seats built into the push pit with cupholders increasing the space in the main cockpit area. The helmsman seats lowers to open up the transom for boarding or swimming via the built in boarding ladder. The mast is Bergstrom with swept back spreaders and no backstay allowing a larger mainsail to be fitted. Up front there’s a roller reefing genoa on a furlex furling system.

There is an Electric windlass for anchoring.

She is fitted with a Yanmar diesel that drives the shaft drive fitted with a fixed propeller.

Hunter Legends are renowned for their spacious and comfortable accommodation. Lady Naomi is exceptionally well equipped. Lots of home comforts not always found on such yachts. Cabins and berths are generous in size and stowage plentiful, making her ideal for cruising as a couple or with friends.

On deck her layout is straightforward and easy to work. Sail handling is quite straight-forward, with all the lines led back to the cockpit, so easy to control.

With excellent sailing performance and luxurious accommodation down below, she has appeal for all age groups.

BOARDING PASS 1 - Grand Soleil 43 Accommodation for 8 crew.

Built in 2004 Boarding Pass has eight berths in three double cabins plus the main saloon. She is a 13-metre yacht, with luxurious accommodation and a fast hull which is not only quick but safe in all weather conditions.

She is built with elegant lines, a general sense of harmony and outstanding performance.  Careful thought has been given to all aspects of construction, but nowhere more so than on deck, where you will find simple but functional fittings and a generous sail plan; with all running rigging led aft to the cockpit.   Boarding Pass is a delight to sail.

The interior of the yacht has an air of quality: fore cabin with own heads, spacious saloon and linear galley which is situated to port, and then aft to where the two double cabins are situated.  All the equipment systems are sound-proofed, so your peace and comfort won’t be disturbed.

Externally this fine-looking yacht, with her stylish transom, has achieved the perfect balance between hull and deck volumes, and offers also a large and well protected cockpit, along with safe side decks to complete what is, without any half measures, a classic destined to remain forever beautiful. A good example of Italian style.

 SAILING in THE CLYDE and on the WEST COAST of SCOTLAND.

Within the Clyde Estuary the scenery is varied and magnificent. Sail along the glorious Sea Lochs, Loch Fyne and Loch Long and through the tranquil Kyles of Bute. Enjoy sailing around the spectacular isle of Arran.

Sea Life is abundant wherever you go!   Over the years our charterers have spotted an amazing variety of birds: puffins, gannets, cormorants, guillemots and eagles soaring above the island crags is an amazing sight to be seen. Porpoises, dolphins, basking sharks, seals and minke whales are often sighted and a 40ft humpback whale was spotted at Tighnabruich in The Kyles of Bute summer 2015 and later spotted in Loch Fyne by one of our charterers.

If you want to go further afield, visit The West Coast either through the scenic Crinan Canal or around The Mull of Kintyre. There are wonderful sailing opportunities. You can visit: Islay, Ghia, Jura, Rhum, Eigg, Mull and Skye; just a few of the beautiful islands to sail to. There are many remote and historic anchorages to explore on the Islands and on the spectacular West Coast. 

We can arrange for Charters out to and from Crinan, Croabh Haven, Ardfern, Dunstaffnage and Mallaig on certain of our yachts and that can make for a superb choice of where to go sailing for your Holiday. If you need more than a week, then it can be arranged.
