Join me off the beaten track.... My guided day explorations take small groups, of up to 4 people, to carefully chosen quiet corners of Skye, to share the landscape, geography and geology and explain how it came about.
I do all the planning and organising, so all you need to do is relax, enjoy the landscape, and gain a deeper understanding of the beauty of Skye.
Your guide: Mark Purrett
I set up Skye Geography Tours because I am passionate about the natural landscape, fascinated by its formation and features, and wanted to share my enjoyment, knowledge and enthusiasm with other people.
I am particularly interested by the vast geological wealth of Skye, the fabulous glacial evidence clearly seen on the island, and the variety of ecosystems and wildlife present, alongside the changes brought by humans in more recent years.
With a degree and a teaching qualification in Geography, I have taught in Skye for 20 years, gaining extensive experience leading fieldwork and organising trips in Skye and further afield.
During this time, I have found many geological treasures in the nooks and vistas of the island which I would love to share and interpret with you.
