We celebrate the rich cultural heritage of Braemar and Royal Deeside, but we also want to attract a huge range of high-quality events and performances.
St. Margaret’s, the masterpiece of renowned Scottish architect Sir John Ninian Comper, is a glorious and nationally-significant Victorian gem. Its regeneration, in tandem with many other exciting local projects, will help enhance Braemar even further as a place for visitors to enjoy and as a place to live and work. While fundraising is ongoing to restore and refurbish the building, it is open to the public free of charge during the summer months and houses an exhibition which gives information about the building and the history of the village. St. Margaret’s Trust also run an ambitious annual programme of concerts, events and exhibitions, delighting audiences with the “pin-sharp” acoustics and stunning interior of the building not least the beautiful stained-glass windows.
