Scotland’s most southerly golf course, situated on the shores of Luce Bay, St Medan offers an interesting and challenging game for novices and experienced golfers alike.
A special feature of St Medan is that there are 18 tees playing to 9 holes, making optimum use of the hilly peninsula with its wonderful scenery and panoramic sea views, and giving the golfer new challenges and options on each 9 hole round.
This is a family friendly, informal golf club and during the week tee time availability is normally very good, however to ensure you get a game it is worth booking. Golfing parties are very welcome and catering is available by arrangement. A choice of 18 holes, day and weekly tickets are available. Parties and outings are most welcome.
Light refreshments and snacks are available in the beautifully situated clubhouse which overlooks Luce Bay. On a clear day you can see the Mountains of Mourne in Ireland, and on a sunny day it’s difficult to beat this course.
‘The Well Hole’, the 4th, is a challenging short hole with danger right and left. On this signature hole you play from the highest point on the course to the lowest point, with a sleeper barrier in the way. This can be a very challenging par 4.
In this part of Dumfries & Galloway make time for Portpatrick and Stranraer for some exceptional golf.
