The island of Lewis in the Outer Hebrides offers some of the best surfing conditions in Europe. The varied and beautiful coastline, combined with crystal-clear turquoise waters gives the visitor an opportunity to experience life in an unspoiled and unique way. As Lewis is an island there are many suitable sheltered beach locations for safe, structured surf lessons.
SurfLewis offer a two and a half hour ASI-approved structured surf lesson. This covers safety, use of equipment, correct positioning on board, catching waves, standing and riding waves and general beach awareness. The lesson includes all hire of equipment.
We also offer a half day (3hr) Stand Up Paddle Board lesson and tour. This covers use of equipment, safety, kneeling and standing, paddling position and stroke techniques. This is followed by a guided tour in one of our stunning locations.
SurfLewis also hire surf and SUP equipment such as surfboards, wetsuits, SUP's and paddles (depending on experience). There are currently 7', 8', 8'6 and 9' surfboards and 10'6 and 11'6 SUP's for hire. There are also wetsuits, boots, hoods and gloves of all sizes available.
