The Templar Arts and Leisure Centre (talc.) is located at the beautiful harbour front in Tarbert – a small fishing village in Kintyre, Argyll. talc. is a superb building and it offers a great venue in the area for art classes, meetings and events to a maximum of 60 people at any one time per floor. The building features three floors: a lower floor space complete with good kitchen is occasionally used for art exhibitions and the Tarbert Film Club screenings, but mainly for community and music groups – there are two additional floors – hosting music tuition, art classes and creative digital media classes. Due to the good light in the second floor, this room is used for the painting classes.
There are several tutors providing classes in arts and crafts, creative digital media and music in the building and approx. 20 community groups. Creative classes and weekend workshops include: painting, spinning, knitting, sculpture, graphic design, digital photography, creating books, creating pattern for textile print, a.o. for all age groups – there are also music tuitions, the gaelic choir, a line dance group and several sports and health activities located in the centre.
There are plenty of local festivals taking place in Tarbert: Scottish Series, Seafood Festival, Traditional Boat Festival, Music Festival, Tarbert Fair (since 1705), 16mm Festival, Book Fair and a Christmas Fair – some of the events are located in the Templar Arts and Leisure Centre.

Venue Hire: Centrally situated in Tarbert with great views, the Templar Arts and Leisure Centre (talc.) is suitable for meetings, exhibitions, classes & events. You want to hire a floor or the entire building? There are three floors available. Each floor has seating capacity of 60. There is disabled access, a disabled lift and toilet, plus other toilet facilities on the first floor. Catering kitchen on ground floor, mini-kitchen on first floor. There is wireless connectivity throughout the building for easy Internet.
Rates for venue hire:
Ground Floor: £8 per hour
Middle Floor: £6.50 per hour
Top Floor: £6.50 per hour
Parties: £30 for three hours
