A quirky art gallery in a farmyard near Lochmaben. Minette Bell Macdonald's The Art Hut is a former wooden storage shed in an open barn at Hartwood, which the artist has transformed into an intimate but bright gallery space.
In an area popular with walkers and not far off the Annandale Way, Hartwood sits at the top of a high ridge between Lochmaben and Dalton, with sweeping views across Annandale. Minette hopes visitors will combine a visit to enjoy the scenery with a chance to view her paintings.
The Art Hut is currently showing Minette working in Acrylic and Chalk on Linen, paints local landscapes of the Solway and hills, capturing light and atmosphere. Well worth a visit.
