A quirky new art gallery recently opened in a farmyard near Lochmaben. Minette Bell Macdonald's The Art Hut is a former wooden storage shed in an open barn at Hartwood, which the artist has transformed into an intimate but bright gallery space.
In an area popular with walkers and not far off the Annandale Way, Hartwood sits at the top of a high ridge between Lochmaben and Dalton, with sweeping views across Annandale. Minette hopes visitors will combine a visit to enjoy the scenery with a chance to view her paintings.
The Art Hut is currently showing Minette's own watercolours of animals and wild foliage but she hopes to host other artist's work.
