Visit Britain's only herd of free-ranging reindeer.
The cold season is here and the Cairngorms feel more like the arctic every day. The reindeer have grown in their thick winter coats to keep nice and cosy over the long winter. Why not take a visit to see Britain’s only free-ranging herd of reindeer in their natural habitat?
Visits go every day at 11am at this time of year, follow a reindeer herder as you make your way up to the mountain enclosure, walk amongst reindeer, stroking and feeding them as the herder tells you more about them. Situated in the centre of the Cairngorms National Park, you will also enjoy beautiful views of the Cairngorm Mountains. The walk takes around 20 minutes and can be very cold and snowy so make sure you’ve got some sturdy footwear and some nice cosy waterproof layers!
Spaces are limited so please arrive in good time for your chosen visit.
For those less able you can visit a small group of reindeer in the paddock & exhibition at the Centre. There are quizzes and crafts for children and Santa will be around from 12pm – 3pm each weekend before Christmas and on Thursday 21st and Friday 22nd!
