CatStrand is an Arts and Visitor Centre in the middle of the picturesque Glenkens region of Dumfries and Galloway. Previously voted the Cultural Champion of the region in the Dumfries & Galloway Life magazine awards.
CatStrand is a multi-use venue with a fully equipped and adaptable auditorium, a licensed cafe, gift shop and meeting room. Open 7 days per week, Catstrand offers a regular range of events including theatre, music, comedy, exhibitions and cinema plus fitness classes and activities for all ages. Our popular licensed cafe is open 7 days for light lunches, home baking and tea & coffee. The Gift shop stocks a great range of locally produced crafts, quality gifts and tourist maps and guides.
Venue hire also available for conferences, meetings, parties, book launches etc., full catering and bar facilities available.
It is also a hub for visitor information on places to visit and things to do in the area, including local walks and wildlife.
Named after the small stream that once ran through it, and now under the building, the venue incorporates a number of energy-efficient and renewable energy features. As a result it has been awarded the prestigious Gold Green Business Tourism Scheme award and has also been named as Scotland's Greenest Arts Venue.
