Located at Dobbies Sandyholm, the Clyde Valley’s leading Garden Centre, The Clyde Valley Model Railway Park is a unique, all year round experience for young and old featuring Garden Scale Locomotives meandering around tracks that encircle fun and quirky features such as Fairy Dell, Haggis Hill and Dinosaur Valley.
The star of the show is undoubtedly Thomas the Tank Engine with Annie, Clarabell and of course the Fat Controller but there is lots more to enjoy.
Can anyone spot the Batmobile or an Imperial Storm Trooper?
The Hairy Maze is a big hit with the kids and water features abound with the opportunity to throw Pennies in the Ponds with all proceeds going to the R.N.L.I. and Capability Scotland.
There is the heaviest Olympic Flag in the World, the Invisible Train, traditional and contemporary landscaping, the Pumpkin Patch in an attempt to grow a Pumpkin that could weigh as much as 300kg and so much more.
The Ghost Train will be running at Halloween and Santa will be bringing his Express Train at Christmas with treats for good boys and girls when the whole park will be lit up by thousands of tiny lights.
As more areas are opened up, there will be more track layouts, buildings, landscaping, water features, quirky themes and as the seasons of the year change it is an attraction that never stands still.
Designed to be all inclusive regardless of ability, there is colour, sound, sights, scents and tastes especially in the sensory beds.
Visitors call it Magical, Mesmeric, Wonderful.
